This DVD has been made in close co-operation with the " National Film and Television School" (NFTS) and other top industry professionals and gives a very strong understanding of the Film and TV industries and invaluable advice about how to get started and pursue a career within these industries, with a unique understanding about not only what is required in terms of commitment and talent from students wishing to become professional practitioners, but also the paramount need to learn to respect the creativity, talent and skills of their peers, if they are to flourish.

THE ROLE OF PRODUCER:- Nik Powell talks about the synergy between Producer, Director & Screenwriter, as well as the do's and dont's of Pitching an Idea. Financing a Project, Contracts, Budgeting and Marketing & Distribution are among the many other topics also covered. Nik also talks about the differences between Independent film making as opposed to producing for a Major Studio.

THE ROLE OF EDITOR:- Roger Crittenden explains the vitally important role of the Editor with regard to assembling the film during the production phase as well as his close collaboratve role with the Director during the post production process through to the final edit.

THE ROLE OF DIRECTOR:- Udayan Prasad, whose credits include "My Son The Fanatic" "Gabriel and Me" and "Femme Fatale". Udayan explains his role as Director with a fascinating in-depth interview. Udayan takes us from the seminal stage of a film's conception through the production process explaining on the way his collaboration with Actors, Design, Screenwriter, Composer, Producer and Editor. He also covers the casting process and illuminates the close relationship that should exist between the Actors and the Director.

THE FILM ALSO HAS:- Mike Bolland: Former Head of Comedy & Entertainment at BBC Scotland, former Commissioning Editor for Channel 4 and Chairman of PACT (Producers Alliance for Cinema and Television). Mike explains about the commissioning process for Television covering Light Entertainment and the importance of multi camera work.
